Kirill Serebrennikov staged one of the most enigmatic and fabulous of Shakespeare’s comedies, transforming it into a fascinating theatre trip. The audience, guided by the characters, rambles through the mysterious forest while the plot takes place in four different spaces. Prose insertions by the playwright Valery Pecheikin are mounted into Shakespeare’s text in verse, as if the characters were at a psychoanalyst consultation, wanting to deal with their subconscious fears.

He is able to turn a story about relationship into a real thriller, though there are no maniacs on stage, only our friends and neighbors.

The production by Kirill Serebrennikov, based on biographical play by Valery Pecheikin, is a large-scale phantasmagoric canvas, a physically tangible voyage to the planet of Kafka. It contains Kafka’s horror, his peculiar humor, and the bizarre beauty.
The performance based on the works of the legendary OBERIUt Daniil Kharms staged by the young director from St. Petersburg, nominee of the Theatre Award 'Golden Mask' Maxim Didenko. On the big stage of Gogol Center you will see a complex and large-scale production with live music and lots of actors involved. One of the characteristic features of Didenko's works is the etude method of acting and directing. The play os created by the director together with the actors , who become equal co-authors here.

The performance will be based on the works of the legendary German playwright Heiner Müller - “Hamletmachine”, “Quartet” - as well as his letters and diaries. Unfortunately, they are not yet known in Russia, in spite of the fact that it has been thirty five years since they were written and got their triumphal success worldwide.
