Graduated from Oleg Kudryashov's workshop at GITIS Academy as an actor in 1999. Worked with the Russian traditional music since the age of 12 and participated in the expeditions to collect Russian folklore. Vladimir was an actor at the Moscow State Theater of Variety Art from 1999 to 2003. From 2000 to 2006 he was an actor at the Center of Dramaturgy and Directing. Took part in the folklore festivals, played with many jazz and classical musicians. Taught movement and acting skills at the "Concordia" centre. He led workshops at GITIS Academy, the course of Valery Garkalin, and at the international theatre festivals in Europe (Finland, Poland, France). In 2000 together with Vladimir Nelinov, Sergey Rodyukov and Vladimir Kudryavtsev he created musical band "Pan-Quartet", together they performed at the European festivals and created music for theatre. In 2003, by virtue of the efforts of its founder and of Olga Berger, the group developed into the SounDrama studio, which immediately became one of the most important theatre phenomenons in Moscow. Leaving Word for Sound and returning from Sound to Word, Pankov creates an absolutely new genre in Russia– SounDrama. The aesthetic principles of Pankov and his team were put into practice in their first play “The red Thread “, which was followed by “Doc.tor”, “Passage”, “Morphine” and the famous trilogy “Gogol. Evenings”, the newest version of which can be seen in Gogol Center.
